Hey there! My name is Alyssa Marie MacKinnon, and I'm the girl behind the lens! I've been a photographer since I could walk and talk - just ask my parents, I was absolutely enthralled with our disposable film cameras and camcorders as a little girl! Over the last two decades, I've owned more cameras than pairs of shoes, and I spent the majority of my time annoying my friends by pointing one in their face. In 2017, I second shot my first wedding, and from then on I was hooked. I decided that summer that I would take my life-long hobby and turn it into my full-time career. 8 years later, I am more passionate about it now than I was on that day. I live to capture authentic memories for wildly in love couples who want to preserve their memories for generations to come.
Vintage, grainy, clean, soft, bright colours, elegant, luxurious, timeless.
BY TRAVEL.
Landscapes and nature. As someone who has traveled the globe, I appreciate the world and what it has to offer. I love incorporating nature and landscapes into my photos. It's not just about my subjects, but about their surroundings - incorporating all of it into one scene.
BY Love.
I LOVE love. I will never stop pining for love. I love people, I love animals, I love nature and I love ideas. It's a word I use pretty liberally, because I truly do love so much. I think that translates into my work, and I think it's the reason I'm able to capture other people's love so authentically.
To get vulnerable for a minute - I am a true hopeless romantic. As someone who is still searching for her "happily ever after", I know how difficult it can be to find that connection with another person. The fact that all of my couples have managed to find that truly rare and everlasting love inspires me to continue doing what I do. There is nothing more rewarding than being trusted with your most intimate and vulnerable moments, and you can rest assured that you won't find anyone more appreciative of capturing your love than me. As proof, you will probably catch me crying (I mean cutting onions) behind my camera on more than one occasion throughout your day.
